Follow along below and scroll all the way to the bottom (don't assume you've reached the end until you get to the final step of turning it in). Read every section. Consider that these sections are words I would be "saying" in class, so attentive reading is just as important as attentive listening.
Analyzing a seminal U.S. document and the effectiveness of the speech rhetoric.
1. Go to the your Google Site that you already made: https://sites.google.com/new
2. Add a new page called Blog List.
3. Make a subpage under your new Blog List page and title it the name of the reading or assignment (such as "I Have a Dream")
4. Answer the prompt for your blog post you are working on (such as the instructions for the "I Have a Dream" Analysis assignment).
5. Find a relevant creative commons (open license) image by using the "insert image" > "search for image" function through your Google Site. You can also do this via Google Image search, click "tools" after you've search and change "usage rights" to "labeled for noncommercial reuse"
6. Add your image and write-up to your new blog post (see screenshot examples below).
7. Go to your Blog List page and add a teaser to your blog post and link to your new blog post so people can find it on your site. (see second screenshot below).
6. Review blog rubric. This rubric will be used throughout the year to guide you in creating your blog posts. It's also available in the assignment in Google Classroom. Since this is the first time, we will do the self-review in class.
7. Publish your site! When it loads and pops up at the bottom of your screen, click "view published site." You can also hit the Publish button arrow drop-down to click the option "view published site" once you've published it.
Note: If you make any changes to your site after you've published it, you will need to hit the publish button again for it to be viewable. Any changes will save as a draft on your site editor but aren't viewable until you re-publish the newest changes.
8. Turn your published link into the appropriate Google Classroom assignment. Click add or create and click the link option and paste your published link in and turn in! If you ran into any problems or challenges, please add a comment with your submission so I know quickly.
